Some Footpedals have a chip in them....

ExpressScribe works with VEC brand of footpedals for USB. If it isnt a USB pedal, then I remember there are some things you have to do to setup the pedal so that ExpressScribe would recognize it. Right now, it sounds like the driver for the device isn't working in Windows, which has nothing to do with ExpressScribe. It is a windows driver issue.
