Help! Foot pedal not recognized.

I am trying to play a wav file with my foot pedal that I used while working for MQ. I downloaded Express Scribe today, but I cannot seem to get it to recognize my foot pedal. When I try to start the Foot Pedal Control Setup Wizard, it tells me that my pedal is not connected correctly to the selected port even though it is. I have a 15-pin game port pedal. I did go through the steps in Express Scribe's foot pedal setup instructions, but I still cannot get it to work. I notice that it says that some pedals are modified to only work with the vendor's product, and that may be my problem, but I hope not as I am working on an employment test.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!
