the cut, paste and copy buttons being grayed out. This means I cannot copy, cut or paste anything into a word document. I have word 2000 and XP computer. I was told I would have to reinstall XP and that would destroy everything I had which was not backed up. That means my whole program through the company I get my work from plus all macros and normals I had made. To me there has to be a simpler way to correct this problem. I don't know when it started doing it but now I cannot do anything at all with creating new word documents copying and pasting to a new document. This is so maddening. I want my 98 back.
