Voicewriter 800 problem

Our regular transcriptionist is on vacation for 2 weeks, and our Lanier Voicewriter 800 is doing something wierd. There is a job queued up for Channel 8, our re-recorder channel that seems to be stuck. It's status is A, but we can't unassign the job. On the re-record module, the work light is FLASHING and pressing the START button causes the transcriber to start recording, but it doesn't lock in... i.e. when you let go of the start button, the transcriber stops, too. Any suggestions?
