Do you realise that you are erasing everything on the computer by formatting the C drive? In other words, when you are done, you won't have Windows installed anymore, nor any of your documents or programs. I'm just making sure of that.

If you are okay with erasing everything, then you might save some trouble if you have a name brand computer (Dell, HP, etc) because they usually come with a system-recovery disk that will allow you to easily replace the entire system back to the way it was when you bought it. This means you'd have to reinstall all of your programs. To run the system recovery disk, you usually just place the disk in your CD-ROM drive and restart the computer. The computer should run the system recovery and walk you through the process of restoring the system.

If you didn't want to erase everything, well, I think it might be too late. I've personally never tried to format the C-Drive from within windows. I usually start the computer in command line (DOS) mode to format the C-Drive, or start the computer with a CD-ROM that has the format utility on it. At 52% formatting, I would imagine that your windows system is no longer there.

Let us know how far you've gotten.

Brian
