C-phone clone

I have a Dictaphone c-phone but am frustrated with it - for one thing, there is no "tone" control. I do not use it as a telephone. I call into the MTSO's server and so do not bring the voice files into my computer. I don't even think it is possible with the way the server is now set up.

So - is there another piece of equipment that is even better than the c-phone as far as my ability to manipulate the voice. Is there even a way to use my computer as that piece of equipment??
