Anyone proficient with Smart Type for WORD that would be willing to help me? sm

I have had it up to my eyeballs with the reading, reading, reading AND REREADING the darn tutorials, only to find I can't make this stuff work. I am only trying to the equivalent of what the DOS program does like this:

shortcut=expanded over here

HOW ON EARTH DOES STWORD DO THIS???? I have asked till I am blue in the face (can you tell I am frustrated after spending a couple of hours every week for four months???) I have emailed JoeWeber and it took about 12 emails to get answer back of: Read the step-by-step directions. Well guess what? I still can't find where it tells how to do this.

I also can't get it so do this: yo=-year-old and if I try to use yo to add this, it says I can't do that. It won't convert macros either. so now what?

HELP!! I am willing to pay for a call for someone to go through over the phone, set by set so I can get it.
