Installed a secondary hard drive. Having problems (sm)

I have Windows XP on my main drive and on my secondary I have 2000. I had to do a Windows Update to get my monitor fixed. I still have not been able to fix my sound. I have an HP. Any suggestions? I appreciate all your help!!
