Unlimited long distance plans should be just what they say. Yet one is charged for dialing into a long distance internet site. I am telling you, something should be done about that kind of crap! I recently subscribed to SBC with the DSL hook-up basically because I need two lines and lost one on 07/04/2004 which crippled me in terms of work. My previous carrier was AT&T who said they could not fix my line until 07/15/2004. My outside line was active, however, so I ran two 100 ft cords from my Lanier to the outside line. SBC came and fixed the problem free of charge. ATT wanted to charge 130.00 for the same service. Then I get a bill from ATT for 1,660.00 for dialing into a long distance internet. Now, somebody tell me, what is the difference between dialing up a long distance phone number or a fax number from dialing up a long distance internet connection? I explained the problem to SBC and they said they have the same policy, but would credit my bill in view of the fact that I am getting a DSL connection from them. To me, it is all the same BS, big companies trying to get over. I am too through with this kind of business dealing. Any comments, solutions, etc?
