Hi: Do you have Stop for pop ups or did you instaill in Windows XP the service pack 2 Microsoft has recommended? I installed my service pack 2 with a firewall and it was horrible and so I uninstalled it. I now have Stop for viruses and pop ups. Call HP and ask them if your model computer has a firewall installed or you can go to start clik on control panel and under one of the headings there it should state you have a firewall or if you go to start and go to programs installed see if there is a firewall program in all your programs listed, such as security or any kind of antivirus software. I have a DSL local provider and I had to make sure I did not have the firewall turned on before I could install the DSL, so DSL was installed before I put the firewall on, but some of the newer computers come right with firewall installed.
