Go into a file folder and check the View menu. Make sure this didn't change from small icons to large icons.

You can also go into a file folder, Tools menu, Folder Options, under the General tab, Restore defaults to see if that works. Maybe somehow your system burped from enable web content to Use Windows Classic. Then under the View tab, you can either Reset All Folders, or Set all Folders Like Current Folder. Apply, OK.
