Word expander advice please

I'm researching word expander software to purchase and I'm wondering if there is a less expensive alternative to Instant Text. It sounds like that is the top choice, but I'm short on cash and am looking to spend less money. Does anyone have a suggestion for software that is less expensive but has a lot of the same capabilities? Thanks.
