ear pads. I tried stethoscope and they hurt my ears. I've tried the bigger headphones but I felt like that fit too tight and and so close that I could hear myself breathing in them. I don't use a C-phone so I don't need an adapter and I can get ear phones just about any place, Wal-Mart, Radio Shack. The port to plug in your headphones should be marked, mine has an earphone icon above it. If you are using external speakers they may also have a port for plugging in your earphones. The port for the earphones will be a round hole, there should be one for microphone and 1 or 2 for speakers that may be color coded, and probably one for aux. If you don't have one marked for earphones just plug it in one and play a voice/music file and if you don't hear anything, unplug it and plug it into another port.
