I work in a small 7-doctor office that recently went digital after using handheld Dictaphone machines. We are using Olympus 3000, which comes with a program all ready to use for transcribing. You just need to buy the foot pedal and ear phones and you are ready. The doctor downloads his digital recorder and WinZips the file (with encryption) and it is emailed to the transcriptionist. After transcribing, it is again WinZipped (again encrpted) and emailed back for processing by the office. It works very well and the transcriptionists seem to really enjoy it. Good luck! The tough part is convincing the docs that it is a good thing.
