MS Word Keystroke Help?

I'm still adapting from WordPerfect and couldn't find a keystroke for this or a shortcut key -- how could I delete to a letter in a line. Do you remember we could do this in the old WordPerfect? It seems that you can only delete a word at a time or a line at a time. I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas? Also any tips on assigning keystrokes for printing out a page at a time? I hate using the mouse but still have to do a number of keystrokes to print one page. As usual, you all are an absolute blessing. Thanks!
