Meditech/Shorthand will not expand right...

HELP...I have tried using Shorthand with the hospital Meditech program and things are not expanding right. I keep reading about people doing work in Word using shorthand to cut and paste into the Meditech. But I cannot even get simple one liners to open correctly let alone entire phrases.

for example, I have the abbreviation iwi that should expand to:
Images were interpreted with use of the R2 CAD system.

But in working the Meditech account, I type the iwi and it expands only partly to Images were interpreted with the tp2w and nothing more. It works on small things, like rbm for right breast mammogram but that is about it. Anything longer and I end up with a jumbled mess.

So I closed shorthand and bought Abbreviate. Redid a couple into the abbreviate program and it did the same thing. Will not expand all the way.

HELP.....any suggestions helpful as will be working two Meditech accounts with two different facilites soon.
