The line from the wall (the telephone line) goes into the DSL modem. That should be a different size from the one that goes out (which is larger) so you really can't get them confused. Work with colors. The "out" wire from the DSL modem goes into the router. Although they are all the same size, there should be one outlet off to the side. This is where the line from the DSL modem goes. Use colors to connect each other computer so that you know which is which. Next time, think about wireless. I love mine -- no more color-coding!!!
