wavpedal

Dear friends,
I may have to purchase and use a wavpedal, or some kind of pedal that is used for transcription on my computer.

I looked up 'wavpedal' and found the pedal and software for $190. Is this what they go for? Are there other kinds of pedals one can use? Are there used ones around, and if so about how much do you think they should cost.

I have a Panasonic dictaphone machine and am wondering if an adapter can be used to attach that to the computer.

I know absolutely nothing about this, so if anyone can fill me in, I will appreciate it GREATLY.
