M-F, 8a - 4:30p, rotating holidays, Saturdays as needed
THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSTING: This position will be physically located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Must possess skills to transcribe medical reports (history & physical's, operating room reports, discharge summaries, and emergency department reports) for inclusion in the patient's medical record and for transmission to physicians and other health care facilities. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year transcription experience in a hospital setting. Excellent typing and computer skills essential. Must be able to transcribe 12 min/hr. Job requires sitting at computer 90% of time. Must be able to transcribe voice dictation and work under deadlines. Job requires lifting up to 20 lbs.
