Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. CMT preferred.
Qualifications Training/Work Experience
Eighteen months recent experience in transcription of medical records in an acute care hospital setting.
Proficient in English grammar, spelling, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
Tested Typing skills at 60 WPM required.
Tested Medical Terminology required.
Demonstrates a stable record of good attendance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dea!
ling with coworkers, physicians and hospital/clinic staff.ONG>
Familiarity with personal computer including Microsoft Word software, macro and template functions and editing.
Familiarity with database mainframe applications, e.g., CIPS.
Familiarity with Dictaphone Digital Dictation system and C-Phone.
Ability to maintain concentration and function independently; work productively in a busy and complex environment.
Visual acuity needed to proofread reports.
Off-shift assignments may be required.
