High school diploma or equivalent is required
Qualifications include: High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required. Basic typing skills at a minimum of 50wpm required. Successful completion of a medical terminology course and a human anatomy course prior to employment or two (2) years experience as a medical transriptionist required. Previous work experience as a medical transcriptionist is preferred. Successful completion of four to six (4-6) months on the job training for a new employee with previous medical transcription experience. Good English language grammar and spelling skills required. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of hospital personnel and physicians.
