A.A.S Degree or five years experience
Medical Transcriptionists perform as medical language specialists who interpret and transcribe dictation by medical and house staff physicians and other health care professionals regarding patient assessment, work up, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of healthcare services. Associates degree in Medical Secretarial / Medical Office Assistant or certificate from an approved Medical Transcription program or equivalent of one year work experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
