Position: Records Assistant/Transcriptionist
Hours: Full-time, temporary
Work site: Children's Farm Home (Corvallis)
Program/Department: Clinical Records

Position Summary: 10/22/04: SEARCH REOPENED An administrative support position, the Records Assistant performs general office duties supporting the Clinical Records Manager (CRM). Scope of work varies and there are occasional interruptions and deadlines. Works closely with Clinical Quality Officer, Clinical Records Manager, and Database Administrator, and Lead Transcriptionist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain the security and confidentiality of client records and other confidential information.
2. Respond to requests for release of records in consultation with the CRM.
3. Collect and prepare statistical reports from client records data including length of stay reports.
4. Prepare file for client records and close chart in proper order following the discharge.
5. Monitor the timelines of individual plans of care, clinical assessments, treatment reviews and discharge summaries.
6. Follow up on records deficiencies.
7. Transcribe clinical records dictation.
8. Prepare census information as required.
9. Data entry, typing, filing, photocopying and word processing, in support of CRM and TQM staff.
10. Collect and compile statistics related to TQM processes.
11. Organize and enter CQI data as directed by Chief Information Officer and maintain CQI database.
12. Complete all training required for the position.

Qualifications Required:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Position requires valid driver's license for the state of residence, proof of personal auto insurance and an acceptable driving record.

Experience:
One year of general office experience or educational equivalent. Preference given to candidates familiar and all MS Office Suite programs.

Skills:
Computer skills: word processing and data entry. Medical terminology helpful. Typing speed of 55 wpm preferred. Transcription training and/or experience preferred.
