Direct and coordinate transcription services for inpatient and outpatient care and the process of report distribution to families, community physicians and other health care organizations. Responsible for ensuring that transcribed documents meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, and turnaround expectations. Responsible for prioritization and planning of dictation and transcription needs across organization and involvement in implementation of the electronic medical record. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or program; at least 3 years health information management experience, preferably in a medical transcription environment; RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or CMT (Certified Medical Transcriptionist); and experience working with dictation and transcription information systems. Prefer experience with health information systems implementation, conversion and/or integration and experience in academic medical center
