The Transcriptionist provides timely and accurate transcription of dictated medical reports for Medical Staff members and patient care. In this position you will proactively support the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and pharmacology. Three (3) years experience as a medical transcriptionist; Medical transcription experience in a pediatric setting preferred. Demonstrated word processing experience; Microsoft Word for Windows experience preferred. Must type a minimum of eighty (80) words per minute Ability to process on average 467,000 characters per 40-hour workweek with high accuracy.
