Description: QualificationsPrior experience, knowledge and skills with transcription as related to psychiatric and substance abuse records is required, and conformance to internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations for the transcription turnaround time and completion.
Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day transcription of dictated reports for the functional areas of inpatient/outpatient, specialty teams and professional staff providers. To ensure that all dictation received daily is prioritized and transcribed in a complete, accurate and timely manner for continuity of care. Responsible for assuring and maintaining correct and appropriate information is transcribed on all reports, to include, but not limited to, correct demographic data, terminology, grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. Responsible for following established priority guidelines, utilizing designated macros, using correct formatting, and terminology. Ability to transcribe an average of 2 hours of dictation in an 8 hour shift. Working as a team member, providing a positive customer service attitude and assisting others in any area of the department in order to promote a smooth workflow environment. Responsible for faxing any Kaiser reports transcribed timely to the designated Kaiser satellite programs for continuity of care.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to speak and hear clearly, and have good eyesight for utilizing the computer system. Must be able to stoop, bend, lift or carry medium weight (21-30 lbs). Must be able to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours. Must be able to sit at desk and computer terminal for min of 4-5 hrs. Ability to perform under pressure and meet frequent deadlines and tight turnaround timeframes for processing and completion.
