The University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Medical Transcription Supervisor for the Health Information Services Department.

This full-time position is responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Medical Transcription staff including planning, organizing, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling activities.

In addition, the supervisor also trains and evaluates all Medical Transcriptionist staff, performs quality assurance functions, develops and implements policies and procedures, and assists in the implementation and monitoring of contracted vendors.

The chosen candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are a strong team leader with the ability to make sound decisions, the ability to learn new skills, and the integrity to deal with delicate personnel issues and confidential information.

Qualified candidates will possess at least five years of varied medical transcription experience in a hospital or clinical environment. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a supervision and/or management role with references who can verify your role in contributing to a positive and operationally successful department or company is required.
