I am currently seeking an independent contractor position as medical transcriptionist with your medical organization.
I have done medical transcription in my home for the past 5 years. I am also an LPN, which is very beneficial as a medical transcriber. Due to my familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, diagnostic procedures, and treatments involved in the medical field, I am able to translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms. As an experienced transcriptionist, I am able to spot mistakes or inconsistencies in a medical report and check back with the dictator to correct the information. My ability to understand and correctly transcribe patient assessments and treatments will reduce the possibility of a patient receiving ineffective or injurious treatments, which will result in a high quality care for your patients.
As a medical transcriptionist, I comply with specific standards that apply to the legal and ethical requirements involved with keeping patient records confidential. I have the utmost respect for the confidentiality of each patient and fully understand the implications of breach of confidentiality.
As a self-employed medical transcriptionist and this being my primary job, I am willing to work irregular hours—including part time, evenings, or on an on-call basis.
