JEBCO Method of Independent Study - July, 2001 through July, 2002
I successfully completed this course of self-study. It included studying human anatomy and physiology, human diseases, pharmacology, laboratory medicine, medical terminology, and surgical technology. It also included answering questions and exercises in The Medical Transcription Workbook. I transcribed the SUM Beginning and Advanced Units of actual reports, totaling over 600. In addition, I transcribed each of the reports in the Advanced Units twice. These reports covered history and physical examinations, discharge summaries, chart notes, consultations, emergency room reports, letters, initial office evaluations, and operations. The specialties covered were cardiology, radiology, pathology, orthopedics, and gastrointestinal.
Medical Transcription Associates, Inc., Hot Springs, Ar. – I began this course in September, 2000 and successfully completed it in December, 2000. The course consisted of studying and weekly testing in medical terminology. The reports transcribed were actual hospital and clinical cases.
