If you go to congress.gov and enter HR 163 (sm)

you will see that Representative Charles Rangel still has his Bill on the Floor of the U. S. House of Representatives; and its status is "Executive Comment Requested from D.O.D.

There are 14 Co-Sponsorsof the Bill. ALL ARE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS. Most are politically influential and IMHO if Kerry is elected they will exert pressure on him and the Congress to support and pass this legislature. There is not ONE Republican who supports Rep. Rangel's Bill. As you know, Charlie Rangel has been on every talk show since this election for President started. On every show that I have seen him, he is pushing this concept. He has not always embellished that there is already a Bill on the floor of the Congress, readying for a vote. He is a strong Democrat and will use every effort to get this through if we have a President Kerry.

Don't let your sons and daughters be deceived that Mr. Rangels talk is just hot air. He is serious and so are his Co-Sponsors.

If Kerry wins the Presidency, you can bet Rep. Rangel and his Co-Sponsors will call in this chit with JFK and there will be a reinstitution of the Draft to satisfy Representative Rangel, his cronies and the Democratic Black Caucus. Please note that all the Co-Sponsors of this Bill are also members of the Black Caucaus with the exception of Jim McDermott of Washington and Pete Fortney of California.

This is just a scare tactic to turn young people against the war on terror.
