Ortho is one of my specialities. Aseptic necrosis is a diagnosis and 99% of orthos say "aseptic necrosis". It is a diagnosis and, furthermore, if the doc says aseptic necrosis, you are to transcribe as such. Aseptic is sterile, without infection, but the tissue and bone is dying or dead from a bone condition or cardiovascular condition. Look in Dorland's under necrosis. Check out line below.
