MS Word Question

How do I put markers in an MS Word document so that I can "jump to" those markers? (I'm making a template.) Also, Word keeps putting this little box to the right of my page that gives me information about what's on my clipboard - it's driving me crazy. I've tried everything I know to get rid of it, but it's still there. Any suggestions?
