If you can type 200 lines an hour at 8 cpl, it would average about $16.00 an hour. With templates, short cuts, expansion settings, etc., depending on who you work for, you can bring that line count up. I have one doc for a local business, that I do that I can average 250 lines or more an hour because he says the same thing over and over and I have it all saved on templates. That's $20 or more an hour, but I don't always get his stuff. It's the way this whole thing goes. I do another part time job for a national and there are some ESL's that slow my line rate down. Yesterday all I got was ESL's and I averaged 150 lines an hour. Today I got all clear speaking English and did 750 lines in just over 3 hours. As far as the foot pedal is concerned, I'm not really sure, because I rent my equipment from my national. No expense, no hassles. It breaks, it's replaced. Good luck!
