pay scale

Can someone tell me what the pay would be for the following:
"The pay is 8 cpl based on 65 character line including spaces and headings."

Also what is a "Universal foot pedal (ability to play both .dss and .wav files)".

I am trying to get a transcription job and am unfamilar with these terms. I have typed for 14 years in a private doctor's office and at home with tapes and a Digital Work Station. New jobs are so frightening. Thanks for the help!
