a poster making errors such as a few I noticed way down below here somewhere, it can really be bothersome. I believe most of us know and understand that typos happen from time to time, especially on a casual board such as this. I make plenty. What seems to take this issue to another whole level are the posters who actually misuse the English language. Examples I have seen just on page 1 of the main board in the last day....."he do..." "they does...." ; "he went to there house..." "The people went over their to find the ball...." These examples are obviously not typos. However, I have never corrected anyone on this board, it is not productive. It would be like trying to tell someone that "ain't" ain't an acceptable word and that a double negative did nobody no good! Something else that bothers me is AAMT and with all their "correctness"...seems they don't mind having a dangling participle; I still correct each physician's sentence where necessary. Instead of "the chest x-ray reports are not on the chart YET. Please, should be "the chest x-ray reports are not yet on the chart or have yet to be placed on the chart. Something, anything...don't end a sentence with yet, etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum. Of course, this is apparently a minor thing. However, the examples mentioned in the previous paragraph could inflame a person who cares about the use of the English language. I think we all want to believe that MTs are a little cut above the average. Hopefully the "MTs" that are challenged by the English language will either learn or, over time, be weeded-out. Now, all you English professors out there, go ahead and diagram my sentences and flame me.
