apples and oranges. It has so many variants. Some call-in systems may vary as much as 3-4 minutes per report as far as the actual length of the dictation. If the machine plays back header information, the dictation length is longer. If the header information is displayed on a screen, such as Lanier, it is much shorter. Some machines record non-voice recording time (long pauses), others record only actual voice activation time. Dictators who speak rapidly can, naturally, dictate far more in 1 minute that someone who is slow and precise. Equate minutes on an account to lines of dictation. It will not take long to determine a ratio - i.e., 1 minute of dictation equals 10 lines of dictation or 1 minute of dictation equals 20 lines. Do not allow someone to dupe you into giving them a fixed number of minutes until you have had experience with account and equipment.
