I would stick to giving a line count.

30 years? Hungarian accent? AND a surgeon? You should be pretty much all set for any job offer.

The minutes per hour thing is a strange one to me. It depends on who you're transcribing for. I have some dictators that pause for incredibly long amounts of time while they are looking stuff up or talking to staff, etc. That cuts down your minute per hour count in a big way because you spend a lot of time waiting. It makes it hard to calculate that way. At least to me.

Maybe someone else out there knows about the "minute per hour thing," but I always felt your best bet was your speed, accuracy and lph. I would offer a potential employer your line count, i.e., "I can do 200 to 250 lph"

I too am interested in how to count by minute per hour.

Good luck to ya.
