Unfortuntely, I didn't find this nifty device until the end of my dog's life, but I have found that infomercial One Sweep rubber broom thingy to do the best job on dog fur, and I've tried practically everything. I got mine at Walgreen for $10. The handle is a little rickety, but it's great on dog fur. It doesn't get all clogged up after one pass and when there is fur on it, it comes off easily. I know it's a hassle to have to first sweep the hair and then vacuum but I would imagine that the Dyson would still have the traditional brush roller where the fur gets rolled around the bar and that was always my big problem and I got pretty good at disassembling that roller bar; the fur itself never killed any of my vacuums.
