Anybody have a Dyson Purple Animal vacuum? (sm)

Sorry to post this here, but don't have anyone to ask besides ya'll.

Just put to rest my Sears cannister after having it repaired way too many times because of dog hair.

The Sears people recommended the Dyson Purple, but it's $400 (on sale!). Looked on ebay and it's about the same. Anyone have one and like it? Or is there a less expensive vacuum that will handle fur effectively? Thanks.
