why I went back to work outside the home in two other nonMT jobs. The thing is that both jobs wound up being entirely secluded with cubicles or dividers. Both jobs were either too hot or too cold all the time. Both jobs had really negative environments and coworkers with power/control issues going on. You have your service people, your managerial people, then I was way off over there by myself in the technical area. I had one boss at both jobs, not the six or seven who thought they could boss me because they had "seniority" Anyway, I came back to working at home and I actually love it this time. I've found a couple of accounts that are super flexible. I may have tons of work on some days, but I get a lot of unexpected days off. I can't do the chained to a desk eight hours a day thing. I like to have time off to go have lunch with my husband, Mom, kids or friends. I also take extra time to go to the kids' schools and have made friends with a lot of the other parents. We do things together with the kids every so often. And now that the kids are older, we don't have to pay a babysitter any more so my husband and I actually have a social life again. This can be a really lonely job if you let yourself get isolated.
