the early 90s and the thing I miss the most is actual people interaction. I quit a management job outside the home so I could come home and transcribe. I did it mainly because I just wanted to get out of the heavy traffic and did it for a change! I guess I would have never figured that I would still be here at home as I love to travel, love people, etc. I think at the point I did it, it was the right decision though I do miss the actual interaction. I once sold pharmaceuticals back in the 70s and that was 100% people interacting and daily **song and dancing**.

My ideal job would be one that included working at home, traveling occasionally, and one that required interaction daily via phone with those I work with, i.e. mentoring, client liason, etc. If I did that, I could deal much better with the aloneness that at-home work sometimes makes you feel. I can't change professions at this point...too old...so I have to make the best of this one...so THAT would be my ideal!

It takes a very disciplined person to work at home (and I am). In talking with others working at home, I think that most I have spoken with complain because they do not have the willpower to sit and get the job done..but my own motivation wants me to go on and do it, get it over with, have the rest of the day free to do other things.

Before the last couple of years, I would always have my volunteer work at the hospital there to help balance things out, and I still do the volunteering, but only 1/2 day a week on Saturdays.

Right now, I am wondering why I am sitting here and typing and I am not cleaning, etc. I think I am just plain tired tonight!
