Probably never will. If she's missing repeats at the end of the transceription and leaving ???? beginning, she just doesn't get it. My mom once asked me how I could stand doing this and I told her that it's like a story, with a beginning a middle and an end. You can't leave pieces out. If you do, you're not paying attention. With the OBVIOUS exception of not being able to understand a word (marble mouth, cut out, ESL, etc). Any good transcriptionist knows enough to listen, listen, listen or go back to a word later as it may come up again. And the "research rule" Look it up, find out what it means or what it's for, and then don't forget it. As far as hiring a "friend," so be it. You need to tell your friend that she is your friend, but there is a big difference between friendship and business and that, although you know she tried, she just doesn't have what it takes. Then advertise for a qualified MT in your area with experience. .
