I was gung-ho AAMT. I spent my "vacations" at AAMT conventions, Saturday mornings with the local chapter, etc., ad nauseum. Then in January 1995 I became very disillusioned with the way AAMT was going ($$$$$ from MTs/less support for MTs). I let my CMT lapse. My world did not come crashing down on me. I still get paid well and continue to receive positive feedback from the QA personnel who see my work. However . . . when I was a CMT attending AAMT functions, I felt secure knowing I was up to date on my terminology. Now, though I update my books as new ones are printed and keep abreast of healthcare news on TV and Internet, I just HOPE I am current and up to date.
