What AAMT does it for me.

We formed a new local chapter to replace the old one last September, thanks to a couple of students who made it happen, and to Bonnie Bakal and Dr. Sherdeana Owens, who did the legwork. Our new Gulf Coast Chapter is student-oriented, and the students asked me to be the facilitator of a support group for students, since I was the main student mentor in our old chapter that disbanded. The support group is going fantastically, and if it weren't for AAMT, I wouldn't have had to opportunity to be involved in this avocation of mine--mentoring students-- which for me is the most fulfilling part of being an old MT. .... If for no other reason, I'm more than glad to be a member of AAMT. We need our local chaper and student support group for all of us.
