I have been super happy for 18 years, and just recently am experiencing the same painful work conditions our fellow employees have suffered thru for years, apparently. I admit, when I used to read their posts, I thought they were:
a. bad workers who couldn't hack it, or b. plain old lying. The last few months have been a whirlwind for me, and I've made a few really nice acquaintances on this board, also MQ employees, and my heart breaks for the changes they're going thru as well, mostly old time employees like us. Chickadee understands where I'm coming from - she and I are fine, I believe. It mostly goes back to an old thread, and I really don't need to explain the whole thing here to you! And if you don't feel bad still referring folks, then good for you. I just don't see, in light of the very horrific legal future looming for MQ, that anyone with a conscience could do so. All of the lawsuits and criminal investigations concurrently (7 at once, I believe?) are all in the discovery phase, but just as they all hit at once with the initial filings, so they are all gonna hit fast and hard at once when they reach trial dates. Then only God knows what will happen to MQ. Seriously, I would ask you, whoever you are as you go nameless, how could you refer someone - AS IN A STRANGER - to work for MQ in light of all that? Sure, you're sister - you can easily relate all the info to her personally, but posting on this board, in a 1 or 2 sentence "happy" referral, how can you do that with a good conscience? Its unreal, but LOTS of folks who pop on this board and ask about MQ and CLUELESS. They know NOTHING about the legal problems of MQ, and are asking for our HELP - and you're gonna pop in and give a 2 sentence cheer for team Medquist??? You know, now that I'm at the end of my post, I do think you should feel bad if you did that to a stranger - you should. That's a shame, and keeps the MQ machine churning away by having a supply of innocent, clueless MTs who don't know what's going on. That's the PURPOSE of this board, to give information so that job seekers can make informed, intelligent decisions. We don't have to bash MQ, or any other company, but we can give factual information. And just to say, well, I've been with them 19 years and they're GREEEEEEEEEEAAAAATTT! doesn't paint a truthful picture of the whole company picture at this time. If you see it any other way, then you are either: a. management (which I hate, as I used to get called that), but really they do hang here for damage control, or b. just blind and in total denial about the future of this company.
