am frustrated with the whole MQ mess. I used to recommend MQ heartily. I was flame broiled on this very board so many times for endorsing MQ, or at least having the attitude of "let's wait and see if these charges are true"...Now, lately the heat regarding MQ got too much for even me to bear, so I jumped down to SE part time status, and have been trying new jobs. These new jobs - pleural - have been absolutely nightmares. Horrors beyond horrors. Yet most were highly recommended on the boards, but not with great detail. Know what I mean? More emotional (and I don't mean you're emotional) responses than just factual ones. If I had had the factual ones, I would have known off the bat that these companies were not a fit for me. I had recommended MQ only recently to some posters, and heard back from them angrily what a mess they were in now - didn't know the entire background about MQ, etc. And there is a huge difference between doing MQ part time, as sort of fun $$, versus the thousands of women out there who are supporting families solely on this income. Know what I mean? Boy, this one lady who took a job at MQ and now is miserable is a single Mom with 2 little kids. So, I just think when any of us, myself included, give endorsements for any company, we should try and give as much info as possible to support our jobs - like full time versus part time for sure! How much time with company (I know for a fact that MQ is treating the newer employees like gold, whereas they are treating us old timers like mud - either cause we get paid more $$$, or because they assume we are used to the abuse.), what office one is with, etc. Especially when recommending MQ, one has to admit that there are far, far more problems posted than positives. And for those who are happy MQers, as I was for a long time, I hate to say it, but those happy days are numbered. We are all converting to 4 regional offices. My happy office is being taken apart now, and I'll be in the NE office that is SO horrible. All of the nice offices with apparently lots of work are being dismembered. We are ALL converting to the horrible offices with the HORRIBLE guidelines, which are going to be across the board for the COUNTRY. I know this for a fact from corporate themselves. Its no fun. We're all starting over, and being treated the same. Which, if it was nice, would be nice. But we're really just being mass handled now into submission - basically Spheris reincarnated. I now can come and go as I please, any hours 24/7. No schedule, no hassle, no one calls me. That is soon to be history. So, all this jargon to say that I just don't think any of us, in good faith, should recommend anyone to join up with MQ right now. Its NOT an honest referral, as the company is in serious trouble, and none of us knows if there will be a MQ in a few months or not. So, my only gripe is that I don't want to see more innocent MTs sucked into MQ at THIS POINT. What a sour note to start an MT career on, know what I mean? And maybe everything will turn out well. Great! Then MQ will always be hiring! Have a Happy Sunday!
