Wayyyyyy, way back in the late 1960's I worked as an orthopaedic P.A., of course we weren't called P.A.'s back then, plus I had only worked in the doc's office for a short time, I was triaging a patient. I asked if he was left handed or right handed; the sad thing is, I already knew, but had a brain "fart", that he had a below elbow amputation on the right. He answered by lifting up both arms and then smiled at me. God bless him for being so kind. Certainly never, ever made that kind of mistake again.
