Real estate question...

We live in and rent a 4 yo townhome, owned by a property management company (they own all 4 units in our building, but the rest of the complex is privately owned). We got a letter today stating they they want to come next week and "appraise" our townhome, so they just want us to know that they will have to enter the premesis and need our permission. I'm trying to figure out what this means? I wonder if this is just for property tax purposes or is it possible they're going to do something like sell the unit? Any ideas what might be up?
