Why would someone even laugh at that? Its not funny - its not laughable at all. Obviously, the MQ MTs, the supposed biggest work force in the industry, NEVER heard of it. What is so funny to you about something that is wrong? Again, just cause you have succumbed to doing it, doesn't make it right. I would have had a fit over it long ago if I had heard of it. The only reason in the UNIVERSE to omit that space is to save $$$. And we do type "business" typing - there has to be a standard somewhere - there are rules - universal rules of business formatting and typing - whether you want to call yourself a "typist" or not. You know better, though why you won't admit it is beyond me. Why be ashamed of having "business" standards? Any MT course includes some sort of business reference manual - Gregg seems to be the most honored. But there are lots of other style guides, all with the same things, but different publishers. There are BUSINESS GUIDELINES for letters, business, personal, books. What if ever one published a book differently? Some going right to left, bottom to top, font changes throughout every word. There are standards in the business world, which encompasses the cosmic universe of the written word. They are rules that everyone should follow, and, yes, a simple space missing after a period is a BIG TIME change. To appreciate that or not is simply, I fear, a matter of intellect. To deny that there are "business" rules and guidelines that our career falls into is, I fear, a lack of intellect. But, I fear, that this is falling on deaf intellectual ears in your case - and I am NOT LMFAO.
