abbreviations we are supposed to use them, per QA, as the dr should know the JCAHO rules, per QA..so my question is.why even send the email in the first place? I have been taught for 35 years to not use abbreviations in diagnoses, post and preop diagnoses..and, geez, I have always used q.d., why not just *outlaw* all prescription writing cause if they can mistake q.d. for something then can also mistake q.i.d., b.i.d., t.i.d., p.o., etc. for something..sigh..
